Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati was established in 2015 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute started functioning with the help of IIT Madras. It has been declared as the Institute of National Importance by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. The campus of the college is spread over an area of 548.3 acres of land. The vision of the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati is to be a globally recognised centre for education with the mission of creating professionals in the field of education to serve society and the nation.

Undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D programmes are offered by the institute. The courses offered are B.Tech, M.Sc., M.Tech, M.S and Ph.D. IIT Tirupati accepts scores of JEE Main for B.Tech, JAM for M.Sc. and GATE for M.Tech, M.S and Ph.D. Candidates can also appear for UGC/CSIR-NET/NBHM for Ph.D programme. The college is located at Tirupati- Renigunta Road, Post, Settipalli, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. There are various modes of transport to reach IIT Tirupati. One can travel by air, road or rail to reach the college. The nearest railway station to the college is Renigunta Junction Railway Station. IIT Tirupati Clubs, Committees and Societies

• Coding Club- The club teaches coding to the students like web designing, object detection, app development, etc. The club also organises competitions throughout the year.

• Robotics Club- The club encourages innovative thoughts in the field of technology. The club organises seminars, workshops, etc to help the students understand the use and making of robots with the use of AI, computer vision, etc. 

• Sports Club- The club organises various intra and inter-college competitions. The students have also won many awards.

IIT Tirupati Facilities

Ample facilities are provided by the college. Some of them are boys hostel, girls hostel, library, IT infrastructure, auditorium, cafeteria, medical clinic, laboratories, sports, gym, wi-fi and many more. Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati facilities of hostels are available for both boys and girls students. The hostels are well-ventilated and fully furnished. The hostel rooms are equipped with furniture, appliances, and other basic amenities. Television, indoor games and outdoor games are also available in the hostels. The medical clinic facility can be availed by the students, staff and faculty members for free. A basic first-aid facility is provided by qualified medical officers. Emergency services are also provided in collaboration with the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS). Students and staff members can enjoy their free time in the college cafeteria socialising and discussing academic-related topics. Fresh hygienically prepared meals are served in the IIT Tirupati cafeteria. The entire campus is enabled with wi-fi. Students and faculty members can access the facility for free.

IIT Tirupati Admissions

Admissions at IIT Tirupati are offered to those students who get through the college admission process. Candidates after meeting the eligibility criteria have to appear for entrance tests. After the declaration of the result of the entrance test, candidates have to appear for counselling. It must be noted that only those candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can appear for Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati admission counselling. For M.S and Ph.D programmes, candidates have to appear for interview and/or written test. Candidates are selected based on combined scores of academics, written test or interview. IIT Tirupati Cutoff

The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks required by the candidates for admission to the programmes offered by IIT Tirupati. IIT Tirupati cutoffs are released for B.Tech programme admission. The cutoffs are released as opening and closing all India ranks. Only candidates meeting the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati cutoff are eligible for counselling.

IIT Tirupati Scholarships

The institute offers scholarships separately for B.Tech, M.Sc., M.Tech, M.S and Ph.D students. Some of the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati scholarships are Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, Institute Free Studentship and SC/ST Scholarship for B.Tech students, Merit Scholarship, Free Studentship and 50% Free Studentship for M.Sc. students and many more. 

1. Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships- This scholarship is for B.Tech students. This scholarship is awarded to the candidates having an annual family income of 4.5 lakhs. Under this scheme, full tuition fee is waived off. In addition to that, Pocket allowance of Rs. 1000 per month is given.

2. Half Time Teaching Assistance (HTTA)- Candidates taking admission in M.Tech programme are given this scholarship. Rs. 12,400 per month is the scholarship amount.

IIT Tirupati Placement

Students have to meet the eligibility criteria to be eligible for the institute placement. For Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati placement, eligible candidates should have a minimum of 5 CGPA in every semester. Students must follow the placement process for IIT Tirupati placements.
