Institute of Advanced Research was established in 2006 with the support of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. IAR Gandhinagar is a not-for-profit institute, supported by the Puri Foundation for Education in India. IAR Gandhinagar has been conferred the status of a university by the Gujarat Private Universities Amendment Act, 2011. The campus of the university is well situated on the banks of the Sabarmati river, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Institute of Advanced Research is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The mission of the university is to provide research and innovation-based educational opportunities to the students with the vision of creating professionals to lead the society and the nation.

The university offers courses in the fields of engineering, science, commerce, management, arts and research. The various courses offered by Institute of Advanced Research are B.Tech, B.B.A, B.Sc. (H), B.A., M.Sc., M.B.A, M.Tech and Ph.D. For admission to the courses, candidates have to go through the university screening process. Institute of Advanced Research accepts scores of GUJCET for B.Tech, GAT-B for M.Sc. Biotechnology, CMAT for M.B.A and GATE for M.Tech programme admission. The university has a total 55 well-qualified faculty members. The total number of students enrolled at present is 540. Thus, the student-teacher ratio at IAR Gandhinagar is 10:1. The university also has many national and international collaborations.

Many facilities are provided by the university for the welfare and development of the students. Some of them are boys hostel, girls hostel, library, auditorium, auditorium, cafeteria, transport, sports, gym, wi-fi, IT infrastructure, laboratories, guest house, etc. Institute of Advanced Research has a placement and training cell, which helps in the placement of the final year students. One can travel by air, road or rail to reach the Institute of Advanced Research. The nearest railway station to IAR Gandhinagar is Khodiyar Railway Station. The distance between the railway station and the university is 28.3 km and would take around 52 minutes from cab or auto. The nearest bus stop is PDEU Bus Stop. Institute of Advanced Research Facilities

Ample facilities are provided by the university for the students and faculty members. Institute of Advanced Research facilities are boys hostel, girls hostel, library, auditorium, cafeteria, transport, sports, gym, wi-fi, IT infrastructure, laboratories, guest house, etc. The hostels are available for both boys and girls students and are very comfortable for the accommodation of outstation students. Students at IAR Gandhinagar have the options to select air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned rooms as per their comfort. Other facilities provided by the hostels are high-speed internet, vegetarian food in the mess and other basic amenities.

There is a central library at the Institute of Advanced Research. Numerous resources are available in the library. These resources include textbooks, reference books, national and international journals, periodicals, newspapers and many more. Besides these resources, scanning, printing and photocopying facilities are also there in the library. The library is also enabled with wi-fi. Institute of Advanced Research facilities include an auditorium, equipped with the latest technology like audio-video systems, projectors, etc. Various events, seminars and convocations are organised in the auditorium.

The entire campus is enabled with wi-fi. Students and faculty can access the free internet facility from anywhere inside the campus. IAR Gandhinagar cafeteria serves hygienically prepared vegetarian meals to the students, staff and faculty members. Both indoor and outdoor games are provided by the university sports department. Students are encouraged to participate in various sports for a healthy body and mind. Transport facilities are also provided for the students and faculty members. The university provides guest house facility for the family members of students and visiting faculties.

Institute of Advanced Research Cutoff

The cutoff at IAR Gandhinagar is the minimum qualifying marks required by the candidates to qualify for the next round of B.Tech admission. Institute of Advanced Research cutoffs are released after the result of GUJCET. The cutoff marks are released as closing ranks and maximum marks. 

Institute of Advanced Research Scholarships

Financial Assistance and Merit Scholarship Scheme are the scholarships provided by the university. Candidates can also avail Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojna, offered by the Gujarat government. Candidates aspiring for Institute of Advanced Research scholarships have to meet the eligibility criteria. After that, candidates are awarded the scholarship amount.

1. Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojna- Under this scheme, candidates should have minimum 80% marks in 10+2.

2. Financial Assistance- Financial assistance is provided to those students, who are  pursuing a full-time programme, except B.Tech/M.Tech/M.B.A/Ph.D and whose family income is less than Rs. 2 lakhs.

Institute of Advanced Research Placement

The training and placement cell of the university provides placement assistance to the students. There are certain eligibility criteria for the students to be met to be eligible for the Institute of Advanced Research placement process. Both on-campus and off-campus placement is conducted. IAR Gandhinagar placement process starts in February. Infrastructural facilities like conference hall for conducting group discussion, etc are also provided.
