M.B.B.S., M.D., M.S., D.M., M.Ch., B.Sc., M.Sc., B.ASLP, M.P.H., Ph.D and P.G.D are offered at the diploma, UG, PG and doctoral levels. These courses are offered in the streams of medicine and allied sciences, sciences, pharmacy, arts, humanities and social sciences. JIPMER admission to the M.B.B.S programme is based on the NEET scores followed by the counselling process. For other UG and PG programmes such as B.Sc./MSc/MPH/PBD/PGD/PGF, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research admission is offered on the basis of the entrance exams conducted by the institution itself. As per the JIPMER Puducherry admission policy, for Ph.D one has to qualify Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF/UGC-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICMR-SRF/DBT-JRF/DBT-SRF/Inspire Fellowship/UGC SRF/CSIR-JRF/CSIR-SRF/DST-JRF/DST-SRF followed by viva voce exam. M.B.B.S, B.Sc and BASLP are the JIPMER courses offered at the UG level. One has to qualify for NEET UG in order to take admission to the M.B.B.S programmes. JIPMER Puducherry admission to the rest of the UG courses is offered on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the institution.

Yes, JIPMER does have an NRI quota. Out of 150 available MBBS seats at JIPMER, 5 are specifically earmarked for NRI/OCI applicants under a self-financing arrangement with a total price of US $75,000 payable in one lump sum.
Candidates can apply under the NRI quota for MBBS admission in government medical institutions and deemed universities during the NEET-UG counselling. Private medical institutions exclusively give NRI quota seats at the state level.
