Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The University Library was set up in 2011 after the Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was established in 2010. Since its inception, the library is serving to update the knowledge of teachers, scientists, students, and staff members of the university to keep them informed about the field of their interest. The library has a unique collection of about 2350 hardbound books of various disciplines of veterinary and animal sciences and 694 e-books and e-journals of international and national repute. The library has led a vital role in the digitalization of Masters’ and Doctoral theses of different departments of the university.

Accommodation is provided in hostels where all the facilities such as gas connection, furniture, TV with cable connection, leading newspapers and magazines, and solar water heating system are provided. All the hostels have EPABX phone facilities as well as incoming calls facilities. Two hostel wardens look after the management of each hostel. Every hostel has been provided with water coolers having aqua-guard for safe drinking water. The hostel messes are being run on a cooperative basis.

There is a well-equipped 50-bed hospital on campus. The hospital has physicians, gynecologists, surgeons, and dentists. Medical aid is provided round the clock to the students, staff, and other trainees.

The university has 18 departments having excellent laboratory facilities and adequate infrastructure for undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and research.

The Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) Alumni Association has been formed to foster ‘we’ feeling among the university alumni through interaction to promote and safeguard mutual interests and to provide occasions for meetings of the alumni. To be a member of the Association, one must be a graduate/post-graduate of the College of Veterinary Sciences (COVS) and erstwhile College of Animal Sciences of CCS HAU and constituent/affiliated college of LUVAS, Hisar. Additionally, faculty members of LUVAS who are not graduates/post-graduates of any of the constituent colleges of the University may apply to the Executive Committee for membership provided they have completed two years of service in LUVAS.

The university has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The University has a Well-furnished Classroom facility available on campus.
