Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya, Nagaon has a Training and Placement Cell that aids in the smooth conduction of the placement drive conducted by companies visiting the university. MSSV also has a career and guidance department that provides career counselling to the students. The university contacts the past and potential recruiters from different sectors and they are invited by the cell to conduct campus placements. Proper training sessions are organised by the Training and Placement Cell of MSSV for the students to develop job-specific skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills, soft skills, etc which is highly demanded in every potential employee by the recruiters and thus these skills help in meeting the corporate standard. The university also trains the students to improve their communication skills as students with good communication skills have an edge over the others. Students of the varsity are a part of various conferences and seminars, guest lectures from eminent personalities belonging to the industry. Students are a part of resume writing sessions and various workshops are also organised for the students for the development of soft skills of the students. Group discussions and mock interview sessions are also conducted frequently to improve the communication and the public speaking skills of the students. Firstly a placement schedule is made upon mutual agreement of the recruiting companies and the placement team for conduction the campus drive and the schedule is shared with the students. Candidates have to register for participating in the recruitment drive conducted by different companies. Companies will deliver a pre-placement talk for the students in order to make them aware of the basic policies of the company and give an insight about the company and this talk is a two-way communication where the company and students can interact. After the pre-placement talk test is taken by the companies in order to judge the Quantitative aptitude, Logical ability, English competency, etc of the students and potential students, qualifying the test moves further in the recruitment drive. Candidates of who are successful in qualifying the test will further have to participate in Group Discussion to give a voice to their opinion and present their thoughts in front of the interviewers. Further, the candidates have to qualify the interview taken by the companies that may or may not have several rounds. Interviews namely Technical Interview, HR Interview, etc are taken by the companies to know whether the candidate is suitable for the job or not. Once the student has qualified all the rigorous tests and interviews they are finally selected and are offered jobs depending upon their calibre.
