As per the annual survey conducted by Outlook Magazine on August 24, 2023, MLCU secured the 48th position among the top 50 private universities in India.

Martin Luther Christian University, also known as (MLCU Shillong) is a state-owned private university established in 2005. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B+ grade. The university provides full-time diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral MLCU courses in various disciplines such as  Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, Hospitality and Tourism, Management and Business Administration. Martin Luther Christian University courses are Diploma, B.Sc, B.Optom, BSW, BA Music, BBA, BTTM, M.Com, MSW, M.A, MBA, MPH, PGD and Ph.D. The university also offers online, value added and certificate courses in various fields. 

MLCU admissions are done online through the MLCU official website of the university. The candidates have to fill out the application form, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee. The university shortlists the candidates based on the merit of the previous qualifying examinations.
