NIT Calicut Admission Details: Eligibility, Dates, Application, Fees

NIT Calicut admissions are offered to a total of 54 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. National Institute of Technology Calicut courses are offered in Engineering and Architecture, Computer Application and IT, Animation and Design, Sciences, Management and Business Administration streams in regular mode. NIT Calicut B.Tech admission is offered based on the marks obtained in JEE Main. Candidates have to qualify GATE for M.Tech/ M.Plan admissions at National Institute of Technology Calicut. Admission to M.Sc programmes at NIT Calicut is done through a counselling process based on the Joint Admission Test for M.Sc score. 

Admission to the M.C.A programme is based on the results of the All-India NIT M.C.A Common Entrance Test (NIMCET). Candidates must meet the NIT Calicut eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for admission at the institute.

At the undergraduate level the institute offers a total of 11 B.Tech & B.Arch programmes in full-time mode. The NIT Calicut UG courses duration ranges between 4 to 5 years. NIT Calicut fees vary for the undergraduate programmes in the various streams.

NIT Calicut B.Tech/B.Arch Admission Process 

• Aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria. 

• First, eligible candidates must take the JEE Main.

• Next, candidates have to get themselves registered on the official website of JoSAA.

• Only registered candidates are eligible to enrol for the JEE Main counselling. 

• Qualified candidates must appear for the JEE Main counselling process, during which they must select their preferred option.

• After that, candidates must select NIT Calicut as their college of choice.

NIT Calicut PG Admissions 

At the postgraduate level, the university provides admission to 30  PG programmes - M.Sc, M.B.A, M.C.A, M.E/M.Tech, M.Plan Urban Planning programmes. The duration of postgraduate programmes ranges between 2 to 3 years.

• Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria have to appear for the NIMCET for M.C.A and the CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA for M.B.A.

• A merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the entrance examinations.

• Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the counselling process. 

• Following that, shortlisted candidates have to give preference to the NIT Calicut.

• Candidates are selected and assigned seats based on the participation in the counselling process, rank, and preferences.

NIT Calicut M.Sc Admission Process  

• Students have to fulfill the eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must appear and obtain valid scores in the Joint Entrance Test for Masters (JAM).

• A merit list is prepared for the shortlisted candidates.

• Shortlisted candidates are selected based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam.

• Following that, shortlisted candidates will have to participate in the centralised counselling process - CCMN.

• Once assigned a seat, selected candidates have to get their documents verified and pay the course fees.

NIT Calicut M.Tech/M.Plan Admission Process

• Students have to meet the eligibility criteria. 

• Eligible candidates have to appear for GATE and obtain valid scores.

NIT Calicut Ph.D Admission Process 

The university offers 13 doctoral programmes in various streams. At the doctoral level, National Institute of Technology Calicut offers Ph.D programmes. The duration of the NIT Calicut Ph.D programme is six years.
