ApplyNational Institute of Technology, Hamirpur is one of the 31 NITs of India which was established on 7th August 1986 as Regional Engineering College. This was a result of a joint effort of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. On 26th June 2002, the institute was awarded the status of a Deemed University and renamed the National Institute of Technology. It is now an Institute of National Importance set up by an Act of Parliament, that is, the National Institute of Technology Act 2007. The NIT Hamirpur ranked 28th in NIRF Ranking 2023 under the architecture category. NIT Hamirpur is set up over a sprawling 132 acres and it has 130 faculty members.

The university ensures a conducive learning environment for its students and thus provides every necessary facility to them. NIT Hamirpur facilities of hostels are available for both boys and girls. All the hostels have a common dining hall along with LED T.V., geysers, water coolers and deep freezers. Hostels are fully WiFi-enabled. There are arrangements for indoor and outdoor sports including a gym facility. The Central Library of NIT Hamirpur has various exclusive e-journals and e-books which are open for all. Candidates can apply for UG, PG and doctoral courses offered by the university. Before apply for National Institute of Technology Hamirpur admission candidates must meet the eligibility criteria determined by the varsity. The college accepts JEE Main scores for admission to B.Tech and Dual degree courses. At the postgraduate level, NIT Hamirpur admission to M.Sc. courses is done based on JAM scores. The university considers GATE scores for admission to M.Tech. programmes. I am currently studying from here and I liked the overall infrastructure . We were provided with all the facilities. All the living spaces were hygienic and all the equipments were well used by the students

It's adequate enough. Neither excellent nor terrible. If you're fortunate, you might end up in a PSU; but, if you're average, you should have no trouble finding work at any of the construction companies, like Punj Lloyd, Gammon, L&T, etc. If you're unlucky, you can find yourself working for an IT company.
Now, in NIT, you get many companies coming for placement and you can even sit for IT jobs also in placement time in NIT Hamirpur.
For state colleges, placement are low and even companies are low to offer jobs in that colleges.
For safe side for your future, choose civil in NIT Hamirpur and if you interested in IT then side by side you can prepare that.
