National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Before applying for admission, candidates should meet the NIT Trichy eligibility criteria. NIT Trichy admission to B.Tech and B.Arch is based on candidates’ scores in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. For admission to M.Tech and M.Arch programmes, candidates are selected on the basis of GATE score followed by CCMT counselling. NIT Trichy admission to the M.S programme is based on the screening of the application form and candidates’ performance in the personal interview followed by a session of counselling that can either be held online or offline.

Admission to M.Sc programmes is done on the basis of candidates’ scores in JAM followed by CCMN counselling. The duration of NIT Trichy M.Tech, M.Arch, M.A, M.Sc and M.S courses is 2 years and the duration of the NIT Trichy MCA course is 3 years. NIT Trichy M.Tech eligibility criteria is that candidates should have passed and secured at least  60%  for  OC/OB or  55% in the case of  SC/ST/ PwD candidates from a recognised university/institute.

NIT Trichy M.Tech Admission Procedure- M.Tech/M.Arch

• First, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for NIT Trichy M.Tech admission and M.Arch admission.

• Candidates have to apply and appear for GATE for M.Tech and M.Arch admission.

• Candidates should qualify the exam and then they need to register for CCMT counselling for NIT Trichy M.Tech and M.Arch admission.

• Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before applying for NIT Trichy M.A admission. 

• Eligible candidates will have to apply through the online application form released on the official website of the institution.

• Admission is based on a national-level entrance examination along the lines of GATE followed by an online personal interview conducted by a panel of members and competent authority.

• The GATE-qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance exam. However, they have to appear for the online personal interview.

• For NIT Trichy MCA admission, candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates applying for the NIT Trichy M.C.A programme will have to apply for and appear for the entrance exam- NIMCET.
