About NIT Uttarakhand

NIT Uttarakhand was established in 2009 by an act of parliament, and is recognised as an institute of national importance and is also one of the 31 NITs in India. Currently, the NIT Uttarakhand offers UG, PG, and Doctoral programmes in various fields of Science and Technology. The NIT UK offers B.Tech and M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering. Each Branch has a minimum 60-seat intake for domestic, and 5 for DASA students. Admissions are conducted through various entrance tests such as JEE Mains for UG admissions, and GATE score for M.Tech admissions.

NIT UK is known for excellence in education and industrial training, with well-qualified faculty who have graduated from prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs and deemed Universities and world-reputed foreign Universities. NIT Uttarakhand has signed MoU with various National and International organisations, Universities, the main objective of the collaboration is to show better exposure and provide a better learning experience with international standards.

NIT Uttarakhand Courses

The NIT UK offers B.Tech and M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, IT, and other science & technical courses, and Ph.D in Humanities and Sciences. In the current academic year overall 594 undergraduates, 86 Postgraduates, 106 Ph.D scholars were enrolled for various programmes.

NIT Uttarakhand Admissions

The B.Tech admissions to NIT U conducted through the JoSAA counselling process, cutoff for counselling is based on the rank in JEE Mains entrance examination. Admission to M.Tech programmes conducted based on the GATE exam conducted by NTA. For admission to Ph.D., in the streams of Engineering and Humanities is conducted through the entrance test and personal interview at the NIT Uttarakhand, UGC-CSIR- NET/JRF, GATE qualified candidates are given special weightage for admission.

NIT Uttarakhand Scholarships

Various scholarships and financial aids are provided to the NIT Uttarakhand covered under schemes and programmes of both state and union governments. The eligible students can apply for scholarships offered by the government and their departments.

NIT Uttarakhand Placements

NIT Uttarakhand has been showing impressive results in placements. From its inception, NIT UK has recorded good performance in showing placements to their graduates. NIT UK has a well informative placement and training cell, and provides internship programmes during summer and winter seasons. NIT Uttarakhand Location

NIT UK is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River in Srinagar, which is 100 KM away from famous pilgrimages, Haridwar and Rishikesh. NIT UK is situated at NH 58, people can use various means of transportation to reach the Institute. The nearest Bus station is Rudraprayag Bus Stand, which is 35 km from the Institute, and the nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway Station. The nearest Airport is situated at Jolly Grant Airport, which is around 120 km from Srinagar where NIT Uttarakhand is situated. Taxis are also available from Rishikesh to Srinagr, it takes 3-4 hours to reach the campus.

NIT Uttarakhand offers various UG, PG and P.h.D programmes. Every year the institute has been actively conducting admissions to the part and full time programmes. Admissions to these programmes are conducted through various modes,and entrance tests. For B.Tech courses admission is conducted by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. For M.Tech programmes, admission is given on the basis merit rank in GATE which is conducted by NTA. NIT Uttarakhand UG Seat Intake & Eligibility Criteria

B-Tech -CSE/ECE/Civil Engineering/ /Mechanical Engineering and other courses.	60 in each Department	The candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. Must have appeared for JEE Mains and secured eligible rank for participating in JoSAA Counselling.

NIT Uttarakhand UG Admission Process

Candidates need to register and appear for the JEE Main entrance exam conducted by NTA at all India levels.
Those candidates who have qualified in entrance score and ranked under prescribed ranking must take part of JoSAA/CSAB counselling, and select NIT Uttarakhand and course that is offered at NIT UK
The NoSSA/CSAB counselling shortlisted candidates for admission must accept offer letters in order to confirm admission and submit all original documents at the register office within the prescribed time period .
The counselling process comes to an end by paying admission fees at NIT UK.

NIT Uttarakhand offers Ph.D programme in full-time and part-time mode, the admission process is almost similar for both, however, GATE requirements may have exceptions for part time applicants.

All the selection criteria is followed by offline mode, candidates must submit the original documents on the day of physical appearance before the examination

NIT Uttarakhand Scholarship

Many students pursuing various course degrees depend on the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Uttarakhand scholarship schemes due to the high cost of education and low family income.
