Candidates are offered admission at Osmania University at three levels: undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral. In total, 80 courses are offered at the university for Osmania University admissions such as B.Sc., B.Com, B.A., M.Sc.,M.Com, M.A. etc. Osmania University admissions are offered in the following areas: arts, humanities and social sciences, media, mass communication and journalism, commerce, computer application and IT, sciences, medicine and allied sciences, education, hospitality and tourism, engineering and architecture, management and business administration, animation and design, pharmacy and law. Osmania University admission is both entrance and merit-based. For some courses such as B.A, B.Sc., B.Com, marks in the qualifying exam will be considered for Osmania University UG admissions whereas, for B.Com (Hons), the varsity conducts an entrance test. Admissions to B.PEd. are made by the Convener PECET as per merit at the PECET conducted by the APSCHE.

Osmania University admissions to M.Com, M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed etc is based on the performance of candidates in the entrance test- CPGET conducted by the university. Admission to Osmania University in B.Ed is offered based on merit in Ed.Cet conducted by the APSCHE. For M.C.J admissions, a pass in B.C.J. with 40% marks is mandatory and students must appear for an entrance test conducted by the university. The university offers a total of 22 courses at the undergraduate level. Osmania University UG admissions are offered to courses- B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., etc. The minimum eligibility criteria for OU Hyderabad undergraduate courses is that students must have passed higher secondary (10+2) from a recognised board. Osmania University admission is both entrance and merit-based which means that for some courses such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Com candidates will be offered admissions based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam while for UG courses such as B.Com Hons there is an entrance test conducted by the university.

• The authorities will release the AP PECET cutoff.

Osmania University PG Admissions

The university offers 56 courses at the postgraduate level. Some of the PG courses offered by Osmania University are M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.P.Ed, M.S.W. etc. Admissions to postgraduate and postgraduate diploma programmes are offered based on the performance of candidates in CPGET. • Students who are willing to appear for Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPGET) must meet the eligibility criteria.

• Osmania University will release the CPGET application form. Eligible candidates must fill CPGET application form in an online mode and must pay the application fee.

• The result of CPGET is released in an online mode. Students who want to check the CPGET result can download the rank card through the web portal of Osmania University.

• Students qualifying for CPGET need to attend the counselling session.

• Candidates awarded a research fellowship, either through a national level test conducted by national-level organizations such as UGC / CSIR / ICAR / ICMR/ DBT or by a national level organization (such as DST-INSPIRE fellowship) or Teacher Fellowship applicants subject to clearance by the Dean, C.D.C., O.U. OR  qualified in the UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ SET-TS/AP /JEST /GATE/ GPAT Examination are exempted from the Ph.D. Eligibility Test.

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in Eligibility Test and will be notified for an interview. Also, they need to submit a research proposal.
