The Directorate of Placement Services, Osmania University plays a crucial role in the Osmania University placements. Not available at Hyderabad's Osmania University is this course. Only B.Sc. and Master's degrees in disciplines such forensic physics, astronomy, biochemistry, botany, zoology, and chemistry are available.

The cost of an M.Sc. in Forensic Science is INR 26,000.

The institute was founded by Mir Osman Ali Khan, the Nizam of Hyderabad, and is named in his honor. In south India, it is the third senior institution.
