The Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneshwar, was established in 1989 by Act No.5 as a state university. The college was accredited with a grade ‘A’ by the NAAC on September 16, 2004. The college was re-accredited with a grade ‘A’ in February 2015. The university is committed to providing quality education to women, especially those from rural and marginalised backgrounds. RDWU is affiliated with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has established collaborations with several national and international universities and research institutes. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as engineering, science, humanities, commerce, and management.
The Rama Devi Women's University will provide admissions to 21 undergraduate courses on merit based. The Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) conducts the Common PG Entrance Test for admission to postgraduate courses. The university also provide B.Ed programme. The university does provide multiple facilities like a reading room, e-library and many more. The university will conduct library events like book exhibitions, visually impaired student computer training, and many more.

The infrastructure of the college is great the buildings are very nice and we'll maintained though it's a very old college but the infrastructure is still very nice the rooms are well ventilated and they provide natural sunlight to study
