The teachers at this college are experts in their fields, impart us great practical knowledge. Wonderful campus, it is very big and looks calm and peaceful for studies. Hostel life is nice. Placements were very good at my time, actually I am pass out. Excellent companies come here an if you have good knowledge, then your placement is sure with a very good pay package.

I am a passout of 2012-16 batch.I have done my bacholers in Electronics Engineering from SVNIT. The college days were definitely one of the most memorable ones of my life.Collge is one place where you not only get to learn the intricacies of a stream but also explore and evolve yourself as a person.SVNIT provided the right environment for both. There were sufficient resources available for a student to pursue technical field. The labs are okay-ish.The industry exposure is limited and placement scenario is also a bit discouraging.(Applies only to my Department - Electronics Engineeering though) Yet the teachers were appreciative of talent and hardwork. They also supported and encouraged the students who genuinely sought their help and/or guidance. Moreover the college infrastructure is the Unique selling point (USP) of SVNIT.The hostels provided excellent accomodation and really good internet connectivity at an amazingly subsidised (government funding) cost. But any college is not good just because of its infra or the quality of teachers.Students,in fact are the heart of a college. The peer group in the college surely met the quality expected of a premier institute.I was lucky to have such a band of talented people around me - which helped me grow as a person and simultaneously make lasting friendships in the process. These were an batch of champions in eclectic fields - be it in geekiness, sports or in creative endeavors,MAD i.e. Music, art and dance. Finally what I really liked about our college was that although there was an emphasis on discipline (Mandatory attendance requirement, many disciplinary committees etc) the college acknowledged and respected the individuality of its students. Most of our students decide to follow their heart - May be continuing in the technical field, taking a job or going for non technical careers - in government administration or management - The range is really amazingly diverse. But these multitudes of hopes and aspirations and achievements are bound together by that one common thread - our Alma Mater : SVNIT. The infrastructural facilities are improving every year.New buildings and equipment for labs are set.The proffessors are keen at undertaking some private projects and thereby enhance corporate exposure. And about college life, administration gives full support to student counsil and thus our college life is filled with full of fests, friends and healthy relations. As far as i am concerned, our dept.has the best proffessors(dont know much about others).

Surat is the best city to live in. Beach is not so far, Gujju people are really cool and helpful, and best of all please try all the restaurants as well as road side food (Specialty of Surat). If you are going for core branches then the college is really good but if you are going in EC then you will end up with an IT job in hand again computer science is great. If your future plan is MBA then SVNIT is best choice. Alcohol and all kinds of drugs (everything else you know or ever heard of) is not allowed in side campus LEGALLY. Campus is a beauty, you wont find better campus, infrastructure is great. Just Go For It.

The hostels are beyond awesome, and the infrastructure is matchless, only you need to be able to study everything for yourself if you want to choose this college. In terms of placements, it is good enough, and as if comes to industry exposure, we need to take initiatives, as the faculty is least bothered. Don't choose this college if you can't study all by yourself, as the teaching is hopeless.
