SASTRA University admissions are offered across various disciplines such as engineering, arts, computer applications, law etc. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses for admissions. The university offers B.Tech in the specialisations such as computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, aerospace engineering etc. Admission to B.Tech and Integrated M.Tech are conducted under two streams. Applicants under stream 1 will be admitted to 70% of the seats based on JEE Main scores and normalised +2 marks. It must be noted that the weightage for JEE Main scores and +2 marks will be in the ratio of 25% & 75% respectively. Students under stream 2 i.e for the remaining 30% of total seats will be filled based on their normalized aggregate +2 or its equivalent marks. The university offers three courses under the law stream - B.A. L.L.B Hons, B.Com L.L.B Hons and B.B.A. L.L.B Hons. Admissions to five-year integrated law courses are offered based on the CLAT scores and Class 12th marks in the ratio of 25%: 75% respectively. Therefore, it is mandatory for students to appear for CLAT for SASTRA University B.A./B.B.A./B.Com L.L.B Hons admissions. Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy offers 37 courses at the PG level. M.B.A. aspirants must note that students with valid scores in CAT/XAT/AIMAT/CMAT will be given preference for admissions. GATE qualified candidates will be given preference over non- GATE qualified candidates for SASTRA University M.Tech admissions. For all the other programmes in sciences, arts, commerce, education etc, admissions are offered on the basis of merit (marks obtained in the qualifying examination). Candidates aspiring for SASTRA University Ph.D. admissions are required to appear for an aptitude test followed by a subject test and a technical interview round.
