Course Details

M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering is a postgraduate degree program at SNU. This programme aims to provide sound scientific and technological knowledge in the scope of Chemical Engineering; not only in the professional context but also in the investigation department. Students are given a clear and wide view of technologies that are currently applied to different manufacturing processes present in the chemical industry. A masters program in chemical engineering trains students to become chemical professionals. It also trains students to become competent chemical engineers who can adapt easily to positions of high responsibility in organizations, investigation centers, chemical sectors, and learning institutions.
Admission Process
- Selections will be based on past academic performance, written examination and/or interview. Candidates from IITs and NITs with a CGPA >=8.0 will not have to appear in a written test (if held) but only in the interview. Candidates who have qualified GATE and have the score >= 75 will not have to appear in written test.
- Sponsored candidates from industry are encouraged to apply. There’ll waiver for written test for them if they have at least 2 years of experience in the Job. GATE score is also not mandatory for them. They’ll not get any teaching assistantship here but they will get the tuition and hostel charges waivers.
Eligibility Criteria
Admission to M.Tech. in chemical engineering requires B.E/B. Tech. Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline such as Petroleum Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Technology etc. with overall marks of at least 60% (or minimum 6.5/10 CGPA). Final year students can apply while awaiting their results.
