Course Details

The Department of Civil Engineering Department (CED), School of Engineering, Shiv Nadar University, offers a two- year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree program. No specific specialization is offered, instead, students are required to take six (6) advanced courses in the thrust areas of the department, and four (4) specialized courses offered as electives in their particular area of interest. This M.Tech program is designed to produce high-quality professionals who can meet industry requirements, including in leading research and development (R & D) organizations and academic institutions. Keeping in mind the breadth of the Civil Engineering domain, this program is focused on building analytical capabilities and project-based learning to enable students to understand and resolve a wide variety of practical problems.

Admission Process
- Selections will be based on past academic performance, written examination and/or interview. Candidates from IITs and NITs with a CGPA >=8.0 will not have to appear in a written test (if held) but only in the interview. Candidates who have qualified GATE and have the score >= 75 will not have to appear in written test.
- Sponsored candidates from industry are encouraged to apply. There’ll waiver for written test for them if they have at least 2 years of experience in the Job. GATE score is also not mandatory for them. They’ll not get any teaching assistantship here but they will get the tuition and hostel charges waivers.
Eligibility Criteria
B.E/B. Tech. Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering with overall marks of at least 60% (or minimum 6.5/10 CGPA) and a valid GATE Score. Final year students can apply while awaiting their results. (Note: Those from IITs and NITs and SNU with a CGPA >=8.0 and candidates those having GATE score will be exempted from the written test).
