Shivaji University Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The university has three boys hostels at the campus. The accommodation capacity of boys hostels is over 930. The hostels have indoor and outdoor sports facilities, students club and a mess that provides food to students.

For girls students, the varsity has three hostels. Around 1195 girls students can be accomodated in the girls hostels. Shivaji University Kolhapur hostel facilities are spacious rooms, indoor games facilities, recreational room and a mess.

Shivaji University has a health centre at the campus. The health centre has facilities and equipment like hematology analyzer, semi automatic biochemistry analyzer, high frequency X-ray machine 300 mA, ultrasonography machine, auto refractometer, airotor, light currying acrylic unit, ultraSonic scaler, ECG computerized etc. Students and faculty members can easily access the facilities offered by the health centre.

It’s library is known as Barr. Balasaheb Khardekar Knowledge Resource Center (BBKKRC). The library has a rich collection of 3,67,341 print documents that includes journals, theses, books, manuscripts etc. Shivaji University library is also equipped with over 9000 e-journals and it has subscription of 54 online e-journals. A heading hall with wifi connectivity and a seating capacity of 800 people is also there at the library. 

A well-maintained sports complex is located at the university campus. The sports complex has facilities and infrastructure for sports such as gymnasium, cricket, athletics, kho-kho, kabaddi, handball, volleyball and many other sports. Two qualified coaches are also there to guide students.

The computer centre of the university was established in 1986. The systems in the computer centre are regularly updated and have the latest software and hardware. The university has also digitised the administration work.

The canteen of the university provides a variety of food as per the choices of students. Hygiene is maintained during the preparation of food.

The Department of Education and Department of Zoology of the university have a dedicated auditorium for hosting numerous extracurricular and academic activities. The Education Department auditorium has a seating capacity of 150 people.

The entire campus of Shivaji University Kolhapur has wifi connectivity. Students and faculty members can easily access the wifi by using their personal id and password provided by the IT department.

The guest room is located within campus premises. The rooms of the guest room are well furnished. A VVIP bungalow is also there for eminent guests. University guests and other visitors reside in the guest room of Shivaji University.

Various departments of the university have separate laboratories. The equipment at the laboratories are as per the needs of the students and it helps them in conducting practicals and experiments.

The university has a well maintained gym. The girls hostel has a dedicated gym for the students residing in girls hostel.
