The college was established even before India's Independence. Hence, the infrastructure is bit old. However, the campus is lush green and sustainable, a good escape from the hussle and tussle of busy Mumbai city. The space constraints in Mumbai often restricts the campus to expand. But everything aligns well when the window of your dreams opens into the green saga of eternity.
Just amazing. The course curriculum keeps updating with the newer advancements in the industry. Every professor is very much engaged in classes and with students. Few classes are taken through Harvard business school case studies. Every class has a unique teaching pedagogy which builds up newer perspectives in every situation. There are around 5-6 supervised and guided internships offered during the course which gives practical learnings of what is learned in the classes.
Professors assist in student placements. There is a dedicated placement committee, alumni committee, clairvoyance conference committee and industry relations committee which work in coordination to bring organisations to college during the placement drive. Students and professors from HRM course at TISS assist students of health school in designing CV, preparing for group discussion and interview rounds prior to placement. Lot of mock interviews GD are conducted before the final placement drive. Placement organisations comes from diverse sectors including but not limited to hospitals, public health, govt and NGO sector, research, health consultancy, digital health & healthcare IT, home healthcare, healthcare insurance, Pharma and Medical Devices to name a few. Apart from it, students who take entrepreneurship as one of their optional subjects in fourth semester are trained to set up their own venture too. The minimum placement often starts with 6 LPA in hospital industry and depending on the interest of the student, location and sectors goes to a few lakhs per month.
It is a good return on investment. It is one among the colleges in India which offers most affordable management course with fairly good placements. The academics, hostel & food charges with certain other facilities are all covered within INR 2 Lakh for 2 years course duration.
U stay so much busy in you course work, case Studies, group work, research dissertation, inter-school and intra-school academic collaboration throughout the course duration. Furthermore, the campus is a happening place with lot of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities all round the year. Student assistance is available round the clock at the campus and there is a dedicated health centre and regular mental health workshops and psycho-social peer support mechanisms for the students.
TISS has changed my life in ways innumerable. The learnings and un-learnings I got here build up self-confidence, resilience and multiple perspectives to my analytical capabilities. Studying subjects like sociology, psychology, economics, philosophy and policy not only shaped my managerial and analytical skills but also shaped my personal life decisions towards optimistic and efficient solution-oriented approaches in multiple ways.
no standing tables, too small tables, too noise fams, no air purifiers window are openand someone are burning trashes next to class, bad audio, too noisy clasrooms teachers voicce is not heard bad ergonomic,
School dean is not using equality methods, can fail you without permanent reason. Same dean is teaching in some courses also but teaching methods are very bad, he gaslight and using phygological violence.
The company reachout is good and based on the course the package differs.my course had good placement packagages and many big companies offer various roles with good ctc. Best offers will getbased on person
yeah it was value or money ,it is one of the highest Rate of returns college in india .the fees around 2 to 3 lakhs for whole course.and ackagages will be more than 3x,based on the course it deends again
Campus community is very friendly. There is free festivals for all and different programs where to add. You can find good and free sport opportunities like baskedball, badminton, gum, hiking and traking.
The college has minimalist infrastructure. The staff and office is not very efficient. But basic working is okay.It has a gym, mess with decent food, two canteens, subsidised and cheap according to Mumbai standards
There is a mix of both great and average faculty. All the professors have done a good work in research.TISS has unique curriculum with enriching field work in most of the courses. It is a good experience.
HRM LR have good placements.Other placements vary but the students are pretty talented themselves to procure jobs. There is a central placement committee which caters to all the programs.odcl and analytics have decent placements too
Affordable
Vibrant campus life,in two campuses located fifty metres from each other
Location is best for a B school of Mumbai. Rank 1 university of India. Administration is supportive, various clubs are run by students. classroom are spacious, and a huge library for all the books you would ever need.
The faculty members at TISS are experienced, and extremely talented. All faculty are phd in their fields, very knowledgeable and experienced. Very nicely designed curriculum. TISS is just like a dream come true.
Rank 1 University in India, with 100% placement rate. Annual salary ranging from 4-38 LPA. It also has student exchange programme from foreign universities. Placement cell is very good. proving amazing assistance.
Our college had all the necessary facilities which is accessible to all the students. There is a gender-neutral hostel as well, this shows the accessibility provided by the institution. The equipments provided in the classroom were also up to the mark and it helped the teachers in their teachings as well. The canteen provided healthy diet food everyday and the campus is always clean with a peaceful environment of greenery, calm and soothing for the students to chill and study.
I studied M.A. Social Work in Mental Health as my interest is towards psychiatric social work and mental health. I feel that the curriculum was up to date and the teachings received were helpful in everyday life and even in the field.
The placement rendered by the institution was top-class. Big corporates and companies offered various opportunities for students who wanted to pursue their career in such big corporation. More than 100 students got placement at various organisations. The minimum salary starting was from 35000.
Rs. 36000, yes, i do feel the teachings and knowledge i got from the institution is worth the amount that I spent while studying there.
There are two campuses which is located at the same area, during my studies, I spent most of my time in the old campus as the library and our department were both in the old campus. There are various activities in which students can engage themselves depending on the clubs of their own interests. The relationship between students and teachers where both professional and friendship bond could also be seen. The teachers were open towards their students in terms of academics. The location is safe.
I have done a long distance course from Tata institute of social sciences from Arena animation in Gurugram. Teachers and the studies are very good, and they always provide help whereever and whenever a student needs. I have seen the college and it's infrastructure is amazing. Everything is well managed here.
I have done a course in film making and editing . The teachers and helpful and kind. Our syllabus and study was up to date and also what we study helps us in our job or for self employment. In the long distance course also have strict rules which are good for students enhancement
Placements are really good. If we do B voc. Course we get placed after 1st semester. Facility helps us to build our resume and they send our resumes at different work places to help us in our placements.
The cost of my course was ₹25,000 per semester. As we have to do internships in our every semester and by doing so we gain much experience. This is why it is worth doing.
I have done a long distance course but as I know and when I have visited college it seems that the campus life their was pretty good. Students were happy, also infrastructure and facilities provided their are decent.
It is/was a nice experience studying here.
College is having all necessary infrastructure regarding academic purposes but when it comes to sports, it lack adequate resources like Playground and all. Classroom are equiped with advanced technology.
Currently i am pursuing my masters in livelihood and social entrepreneurship .Quality of teaching is very good and institute also ranked number one in social work education. curriculum is good enough to allign with contemporary times.
the placement for different schools differ accordingly. In school of social work you can say avg. package is 5-6 LPA. placement cell is very prompt and has been working very good in recent years. college is very supportive when it comes to placements.
The fees has been increased very highly in last 5-6 years. My course cost around 3L for 2 years.
Campus is one of the best thing about tiss mumbai. diversity in its zenith. Student do engage in curricular as well as in extra curricular activities.
Its been a great journey till now for me.. a lot has been gained in terms of learning from the campus.
TISS mumbai has 2 campuses, new and old. Both campuses are absolutely beautiful, green and serene! The academic buildings for lectures are marvelous, spacious, with ACs in some, projectors in most, good benches and chairs. Apart from lecture halls, there is a 6 floor library, a dedicated gymkhana, 2 canteens, badminton, volleyball courts, a central area for students to sit, talk and do their work in their free time, a good amphitheater and so on. Digital infra is commendable too.
I'm a student of public health at tiss. The curriculum is broad, with heavy focus on public health. there are 3 compulsory internships which give practical hands-on exposure and training to public health students. their evaluation system consists of assignments and theory exams. Teaching method is a good mix of conventional blackboard and audio visual systems. Professors are experienced and can translate their knowledge effectively, although every college has professors we might not be fond of.
In public health, placements are completely student driven. However, faculties do help out when the need be. A dedicated placement committee is elected, who works towards placement procedures. All students get placed at the end of the 2 year masters program.
TISS is renowned for its public health course all over the country. Fees is not alot, because tiss receives grants from UGC. It is an absolute value for money, especially considering the ROI and quality of education.
In TISS students are exposed to diverse students coming from all parts of the country and with different graduation specialization. Once in TISS, one has to be politically savvy and mindful. people have different opinions on many things, and often conflicts may arise. Apart from that campus life is amazing. Campus is open all night, there are events happening almost everyday. You can make amazing friends from different demographics and know more about culture, attitudes, political leanings, etc.
TISS is famous for its flagship course HR&LM, but it also has other 50 courses to offer, ODCL, Public health, hospital administration, social work, law, urban policy, etc are a few to name. Each course is unique in its own way. If you get an option for TISS, go ahead!
