Thapar University provides admission to UG, PG and integrated courses. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology admissions are offered to courses such as B.Tech, B.E, M.Tech., M.E, M.C.A. etc. The university also provides lateral entry admission to B.E courses. TIET Patiala admission to B.E courses is offered through two modes; merit (marks obtained in the qualifying examination) and JEE Main. For Thapar University admission to B.Tech Biotechnology and B.Tech Biomedical Engineering courses, NEET scores are taken into consideration for 50% of the total seats. The reamining 50% seats are filled on the basis of merit. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology admission to M.Sc. courses is given on the basis of candidates' scores in 12th standard and bachelor's degree.

• Candidates need to apply and appear for NEET and obtain a valid score.
• Based on the scores of NEET candidates have to submit the online applications on the TIET Patiala website.
• The university will shortlist the students as per the marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET for the 50% of the total seats.
• Shortlisted candidates have to be a part of the counseling process.
