Burdwan University All Questions

To pursue MTech programme from BU, student must have passed B.E/B.Tech course in the related trade. The candidate who have passed Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will get preference. Non-GATE Candidates may also be considered for admission. However, admission to BU MTech course will subject to the availability of seats, number of candidates applied for the course and merit list prepared by the university.

The Burdwan University offer MSc programmes in 18 different subjects. The minimum marks for admission to the unreserved seats in M.A./M.Sc. course of studies under Faculty Council (Science) is 50% at the Honours level in the concerned/relevant subject from any UGC recognised University. For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ DA/ SP categories, eligibility is minimum of 45% marks in honours in the concerned/relevant subject (including the relevant multidisciplinary subjects).

The Distance Education wing at Burdwan University is also known as Centre for Distance And Online Education(CDOE). The in-service teachers who have passed D.EL.Ed./D.Ed. programme face-to-face mode are eligible for admission in Burdwan University B.Ed (ODL) programme. Interested candidate must have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode. NCTE recognized  face-to-face teacher education programmes include Diploma in Preschool Education (DPSE), D.EL.Ed./D.Ed., B.El.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed., D.P.Ed., B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., Diploma in arts education (Visual Arts/Performing Arts), and B.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed., among others.

Candidates are selected for admission to B.Ed. based on their score in the bachelor’s degree.

 Burdwan University admission to L.L.B. is done through a written test conducted by the university. A merit list will be released based on the performance of the candidates in the written test.

Candidates seeking admission in M.B.A. need to appear for CAT/CMAT/XAT/MAT and obtain a valid score.

Candidates seeking admission in L.L.M must have 3 years law graduates from any recognised university with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

A total of 53 courses are offered at the UG level.
