The University of Calcutta offers a total of  67 courses in different streams. Some of the courses offered by Calcutta University includes MCom, MSc, BA LLB, BE/BTech, MA, MCA etc in various specializations. Calcutta University admissions to MA course, students must be a graduate from Calcutta University or its affiliated colleges. 

For BTech programmes, candidates must appear for the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE)/JEE Main, whereas, for BA LLB, Calcutta University, Faculty of Law conducts an entrance examination for Calcutta University UG admissions. Calcutta University admissions to all the PG courses are offered on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted by The University of Calcutta. For MPhil, and PhD programmes admission, the Calcutta University admission process includes a written test known as Research Eligibility Test (RET), interview, document verification, and payment of the fees.

• A Merit List will be released by the University as per the WBJEE rank/JEE Main rank.

• Selected candidates will be called for the counselling process and seats will be allotted based on their WBJEE rank.

• Candidates need to apply to the programme by visiting the official website of the university. The process of applying to the course will be entirely online.

•  After applying to the course, students need to take a printout of the form and report to the university.

• Original Money Receipt of the amount deposited in W.B.J.E.E Board and Bank Challan if any.

• Original School leaving Certificate from the Principal / Head of the School / College last attended.

• Original medical certificate of fitness from a registered medical practitioner which should state height, measurement of the chest, condition of eye-sight and hearing, bodily infirmities etc.

• Self-attested copies of 10th and 12th mark sheets.

• Self-attested copy of the Birth certificate.

• Self- attested copy of the admit card as generated by the WBJEE Board.

• Caste certificate (if any).

• Domicile Certificate.

• Two copies of passport size colour photographs (recent).

• Candidates should meet the eligibility criteria before applying to the programme.

• Faculty of Law, Calcutta University will release the merit list.

• Qualified candidates will be called for an interview round.
