Established in the year 1960, Kalyani University is a state public university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The varsity is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. In NIRF University Ranking 2020, the University of Kalyani got 89th position. The Department of Computer Science Engineering, Department of Engineering & Technological Science and Department of Business Administration of the varsity are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). As per the official website of the university, its mission is to promote interdisciplinary research and a balance between basic and applied research programmes. The university accepts WBJEE and WB JECA for admission in B.Tech and M.Sc. programmes respectively. CAT/MAT/CMAT/JEMAT scores are taken into consideration for admission in the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) course.

The nearest railway station to the University of Kalyani is Hazi Md Mohsin Halt Railway Station. It is located 8.2 km from the university premises. With a distance of 18.2 km, Khadina More Bus Stop is the closest bus stop to the university.

To make sure students do not face any inconvenience during their time at the campus, the university has modern facilities and infrastructure. University of Kalyani facilities are a library with an adequate number of books, a separate hostel for boys and girls students, a well-equipped gym for physical fitness of students and many more. The entire campus of the university has wi-fi connectivity. The varsity has a modern auditorium where most of the academic and co-curricular events are held. University of Kalyani Admissions

In order to take admission in programmes offered by the university, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the desired programme. Kalyani University admission to the B.Tech course is given based on candidates WBJEE score. For M.C.A. admission, the varsity accepts WB JECA. CAT/MAT/JEMAT/CMAT scores are accepted for admission in the M.B.A. programme. As per the University of Kalyani admission policy, 80% of seats in the postgraduate programmes are reserved for candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree from Kalyani University. The remaining 20% of seats are for All India Candidates.

• Sit for WBJEE. 

• The WBJEE merit list is released. 

• Next, register and participate in WBJEE counselling. 

• Fill college choices in preference order. 

• Based on entrance score and choices filled, sets are allotted to candidates.

University of Kalyani Scholarships

The students of the university can avail various university level, state level and University Grants Commission (UGC) scholarships offered by the university. Kalyani University scholarships (university level) are University Merit Scholarship and University Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. The scholarships are offered to students based on their academic performance and category. As per the University of Kalyani scholarship scheme, one student can only have one scholarship. Apart from scholarship, Kalyani University also provides fee concession to the students who belong to financially weaker sections of the society. The single girl child who is enrolled in the PG programme of the university can avail UGC Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship provided by the UGC.

To enrol on the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) course, candidates need to appear for WBJEE. The university offers admission on the basis of the WBJEE score of the candidates. Kalyani University cut off is the closing ranks of WBJEE. The closing rank varies for each specialisation of the B.Tech programme.
