The Centre For Proficiency Development and Placement Services (CPDPS) of the university looks after the placements of the students. CPDPS is responsible for inviting companies to University of Mysore placement drives. The Centre For Proficiency Development and Placement Services helps students in finding their best interest and accordingly prepares them for the respective field. As a part of Mysore University placement activities, industrial visits, training programmes, special lectures on skill development etc. are conducted by the CPDPS. The prime focus of CPDPS is on improving employability skills of students. CPDPS also helps students who have interest in entrepreneurship and want to be self employed.

At UOM Mysore 2019-20 placements, 26 students (UG 5 year courses), 12 students (PG 1 year courses), 250 students (PG 2 year courses) and 24 students (PG 3 year courses) got placed.
