Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for Class 6 is through a selection test (JNVST). Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducted the phase 1 exam on January 18, 2025.
Image: PixabayThe JNVST exam is a national-level entrance test conducted by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
The exam is held in 2 phases between November and April. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti application for JNVST Class 6 admission 2025-26 is from July 16, 2024, to October 7, 2024.
Must be studying in Class 5 in a recognised school
Age: 9-13 years (No age relaxation)
The JNVST Class 6 exam is objective-based (MCQs) with:
Mental Ability (40 Qs)
Arithmetic (20 Qs)
Language Test (20 Qs)
75% seats for rural students SC/ST/OBC, girls, and differently-abled students have reserved seats.
Selection is merit-based, and students are chosen based on performance in JNVST.
Results are published online & offline on the NVS website and in local newspapers.
Selected students must submit birth certificates, domicile, caste certificates, and school records.
After verification, students get admission into JNVs, offering free education, boarding, & lodging.
