The UGC NET is an exam conducted for aspiring candidates who wish to become Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellows in India. But what are the passing marks for this challenging exam?
The exam consists of two papers:
Paper I: General paper on teaching and research aptitude.
Paper II: Subject-specific paper Both papers are mandatory!
The passing marks for UGC NET depends on:
Category (General, OBC, SC, ST, PwD)
Aggregate score in both papers.
General Category: 40% in both papers.
\OBC/SC/ST/PwD: 35% in both papers.
General Category: At least 40% aggregate. (both papers)
OBC/SC/ST/PwD: At least 35% aggregate.
Paper I: 100 marks, 50 questions.
Paper II: 200 marks, 100 questions.
The UGC NET result is calculated by considering the combined score of Paper I and Paper II. Both must meet the minimum required percentile.
The cutoff may vary depending on:
Number of candidates and the Difficulty level of the exam.
