The fresh admission cycle for the concerned ODL/online programmes for the July 2024-2025 session commenced on May 15, 2024. The last date for applying for the July 2024 session admissions to IGNOU is June 30, 2024.

About IGNOU

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi was established in 1985. IGNOU New Delhi is a government-owned co-ed university. IGNOU has been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC receiving an ‘A++’ grade. Courses are offered at IGNOU at four levels. These are the diploma, UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels.

The IGNOU courses are available in distance and online study modes. Popular courses offered by IGNOU include BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Phil, Ph.D and others. IGNOU also offers several certificate, diploma, PG diploma and advanced diploma courses.

The candidates should meet the IGNOU eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the courses. Admissions to IGNOU are offered based on merit in the qualifying examination as well as marks obtained in entrance examinations. IGNOU conducts national level entrance examinations for admissions to B.Ed, M.Phil and Ph.D courses.It also accepts scores obtained in GATE, UGC-NET and other exams for Ph.D admissions.

The fee structure at IGNOU depends on the course chosen by the candidate. IGNOU Delhi provides many facilities for its students, staff and faculty on campus as well at the regional study centres. Facilities available at the New Delhi headquarters of IGNOU also include a library, auditorium, medical aid, and so on. The university has a separate placement cell on campus that handles all the placement activities. IGNOU New Delhi placement cell organises placement drives and invites top recruiters for the drive. The students of the university can avail themselves of scholarships. IGNOU also offers scholarships mostly sponsored by the UGC and the central government.

College Infrastructure

IGNOU classrooms are suspicious and comfortable. It also have projectors and audio visual equipments. There maybe complaints about poor ventilation and less well equipped centres. They have library resources with digital access.

Infrastructure include various regional centers and study centers.my study center had basic facilities like drinking water ,good clean classrooms. But if you opt for books they don't provide them on time. We had a library last year

Is IGNOU good for educational degree?

Hey,

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a good university. IGNOU is a central government university that was established in 1985. It is accredited by NAAC, approved by AICTE, and recognized by UGC. IGNOU degrees are considered valid when applying for higher education, job opportunities, and government jobs.

The quality of study materials is good and that it's not easy to pass the exams. It is worth graduating from IGNOU because the university courses are authorized and recognized by the University Grants Commission.

However, it is difficult to get a job with a degree from IGNOU without any other degree or experience. Students get 6 to 8 books per subject and have to study all books.
