Established in 1920, Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university which is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The JMI New Delhi has been approved by many organisations such as BCI, AICTE, Council of Architecture, DCI. The JMI New Delhi ranked at 12th place in the overall category of the NIRF 2023.

Jamia Millia Islamia offers Diploma, BA, B.A (Hons), BFA, B.Com (Hons), BBA, B.Lib.I.Sc, BE/B.Tech, M.Ed, MA, M.Arch, MBA, MFA, M.Sc and Ph.D programmes. Admission to JMI in BE/B.Tech is offered based on JEE Main scores. Admission to other programmes at JMI New Delhi are based on a written entrance exam administered by the university. Based on the results of the entrance exam, the university will create a merit list, which will be followed by the counselling process.

Jamia Millia Islamia has a placement cell that welcomes all organisations to pre-placement talks and provides personality development programmes, workshops, and other assistance to the students. According to the NIRF 2024 report for Jamia Millia Islamia, out of 1041 eligible students for 3-year UG programme placements, 439 were offered job offers with a median salary of Rs 6,00,000 per annum.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure and facilities in this college is quite up to the mark. The campus is equipped with all the necessary and latest facilities and equipment. The classrooms, laboratories, library are well maintained. Even the hostel facility is good. Whole campus is clean and hygienic.

Jamia Millia Islamia have best building infrastructure including central library, engineering department such as b.tech and polytechnic buildings. All the major gate no like 1,7,8,13,15,17 have amazing architectural infrastructure.

College Infrastructure

The facilities are good compared to the fees. The library is huge and beautifully maintained; classrooms are average. Wi-Fi does not work properly. The infrastructure of the department is beautiful. The hostel quality is just fine, and the mess food is also average. There are many canteens on the whole campus with a wide variety of food items. The sports complex is huge and well-maintained, and the medical facilities are also good, as there is a special clinic for staff and students.
