AHSEC, which stands for Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, is an educational board overseen by the state government of Assam. It is the governing body for higher secondary (10+2 stage) education in Assam. On June 1, 1984, the Assam government formed the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council to regulate, manage, and improve the state's higher secondary education system.

The AHSEC board is in charge of creating, approving, and sanctioning AHSEC textbooks for Classes 11th and 12th, also known as Higher Secondary First Year and Higher Secondary Second Year, respectively. The board is also in charge of developing the AHSEC syllabus and timetable. The board also prepares and announces the AHSEC results.
