Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA), Sonipat, is one of the most eminent institutions offering undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral programs in international affairs, political science, and diplomacy. The JSIA admission process is unique and broad and is tailored to assess each applicant individually along various parameters. The JSIA admission cycle usually begins months before the academic session that starts around August-September. Specific dates may vary; therefore, applicants are advised to start at least six months in advance with their application, preferably by January-February of the academic year they wish to apply for.
In the case of undergraduate courses, JSIA is considering several criteria during the three stages of selection. Applicants submit a personal statement and an additional question. Their Class 10 and Class 12 marks will be evaluated, and they will be interviewed by the faculty. Postgraduate admissions for the MA program proceed by the same rigorous guidelines. Ph.D. admission can be male or female. Applications can be made for full-time or part-time students; fellowships are open for full-time researchers. There are different prescribed requirements depending on the program, but all generally include successful completion of previous qualifying degrees.

Degree wise Admission Process
BA Hons Global Affairs: For this undergraduate program, selections are made in three rounds. Candidates prepare a personal statement, respond to a supplemental question, provide Class 10 and 12 marks, attend a faculty interview, and score the required marks on the JSAT/SAT/ACT. The aim is to select candidates who genuinely appreciate the complexities of global affairs and have potential for academic excellence.
BA Hons Political Science: The political science program is selected in the same way as the Global Affairs BA Hons program. A personal statement is submitted; candidates are given a supplemental question; Class 10 and 12 marks are considered; a faculty interview is held, and satisfactory JSAT/SAT/ACT scores are expected. The selection committee looks for candidates with an interest in political science and strong analytical skills.
BA Hons Diplomacy and Foreign Policy: Like all other programs, this also has a three-round admission process that encompasses submission of a personal statement, a supplemental question, and academic records from Class 10 and 12, a faculty interview, and standardized test scores. The admissions committee is looking for students who are passionate about diplomacy and international relations.
MA Diplomacy, Law and Business: Although specific details are not given, the admission process for postgraduate programs would be equally comprehensive regarding considerations for academic background, relevant experience, and performance in an interview or entrance test.
Ph.D. International Affairs: Candidates may apply as full-time or part-time students. Full-time Ph.D. students work only on completing Ph.D. requirements and may apply for fellowships under some conditions. Part-time Ph.D. students work on their projects alongside their other employment obligations. The selection process likely includes the evaluation of research proposals, their academic background, and personal interviews/contacts with faculty.
