Uttaran College of Education, Bankura, is a co-educational institution and is affiliated to and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college provides specialized education courses in teaching professions. The admission procedure in Uttaran College of Education is meant for selecting suitable candidates for its B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses.

The college adopts a merit-based admission process based on a consideration of the marks secured in entrance tests and/or qualifying examinations. Admission is made according to a procedure and policy devised by the State Government. and the affiliated University. For B.Ed. course, the procedure for admission is followed according to a policy devised by the State Government. and the affiliated University. The admissions to the D.El.Ed programme are made according to the policy drawn up by the State Government or UT administration.

Application Process

The application process for Uttaran College of Education, Bankura, is as follows:

1. Declaration of Admissions: The college declares the commencement of the admission process on its official website and other media.

2. Application Form: Candidates need to download and fill up the application form. This can be downloaded online from the college website or directly from the college admission office.

3. Submission of Documents: In addition to the filled-in application form, the applicants are requested to submit the below documents, i.e.,

• Qualifying examination mark sheets
• Date of birth proof
• Category certificate (if required)
• Entrance exam score card (if required)

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education):

The B.Ed course of the Uttaran College of Education is a regular two-year course with an intake capacity of 50 students. Admission to the B.Ed course is purely merit basis taking into account the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The screening can also be on the basis of other criteria as decided by the state government policy and the concerned university. 

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education):The D.El.Ed course is also a two-year regular course of 50 seats. Admission to D.El.Ed is done as per the policy laid down by the State Government or UT administration. Candidates are chosen on the basis of qualifying examination performance and/or entrance test. General eligibility for this is 10+2 pass or equivalent from any board.
