Velaga Nageswara Rao College of Engineering, popularly known as VNRCE, was established in the year 2008 at Ponnur, Andhra Pradesh. The college has its sprawling campus of 11.25 acres in a picturesque location. In this short span of time, VNRCE has carved a niche for itself in the field of technical education. AICTE-approved, the college offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of Engineering and Management. VNRCE has a total enrolment of 560 students and a faculty strength of 167. This ensures a very healthy student-faculty ratio, which guarantees personalised attention and quality education.

Velaga Nageswara Rao College of Engineering is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUK), Kakinada. VNRCE offers a total portfolio of 20 courses at 4 degree levels: B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Diploma programmes. The academic portfolio of the institution consists of conventional and emerging fields, and it has concentrated on full-time programmes. Some of the salient courses are B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning that has recently been inducted. The institute simultaneously provides specialised M.Tech programmes in VLSI and Embedded Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, and Structural Engineering. An MBA and other Diploma courses available at VNRCE cater to different educational aspirations and industry demands.

Admission to VNRCE is mostly through merit. Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test, AP EAMCET, is the main entrance test basis for admission to its B. Tech programme. This is a state-level aptitude test taken separately for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The college may further consider national-level entrance exams or conduct admission tests at its discretion for postgraduate courses.
