GUJCET is the abbreviation for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test conducted by the GSEB (Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board) yearly for the admission of engineering and diploma pharmacy undergraduate courses in several educational institutions located in the state of Gujarat. The clearance of this examination leads to the enrolment of successful participants in several renowned government and private institutions.
The exam of GUJCET occurs annually in the month of April. In 2022, the exam was held on April 18, 2022, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. The candidates are supposed to answer questions from subjects such as Physics, Math, Chemistry and Biology. The exam occurs as a combined paper for Chemistry and Physics with a time duration of 120 minutes. However, the duration of the remaining two papers is 60 minutes each. Each candidate attempts 40 MCQs from each subject. The number of students who attended the exam in the year 2022 accounted for 1,08,154 students, with 60,00 seats available for the engineering courses and 6,000 seats for the pharmacy courses. The admission criteria in the GUJCET-associated institutions follow the pattern of considering 60% of total scores in Physics, Chemistry and Math/Biology in board exams with 40% of GUJCET scores.
The GUJCET exam utilises the pen and paper-based evaluation system. The exam is conducted in Hindi, English as well as Gujarati languages. The candidate has to answer a total of 120 questions for 120 marks in 3 hours of time duration. The candidate scores 1 mark for each correct answer and a deduction of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. However, no deductions are done for the unanswered questions.
The GUJCET exam allows the candidate to select a group (of subjects) from three groups which include: Group A: Physics, Chemistry and Math, Group B: Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Group AB: Physics, Chemistry, Math and Biology.
Each candidate is required to carry a valid admit card and ID proof. The ID proof could either be a valid Aadhar card, pan card, passport or voter card. Any of the ID proof carried must not be expired. The admit card generally gets released 10 days prior to the date of the exam.
All the candidates appearing for the GUJCET exam must be of Indian Nationality. They must be legal residents of Gujarat. The candidates appearing for GUJCET must pass the 12th standard examination. The candidates must score 45% marks or above in the 12th standard examination, however, for the reserved categories, the qualifying score remains to be 40% in the 12th standard. Candidates appearing in the 12th Standard examination may also appear for GUJCET, but their results will be valid only when they pass the 12th examination with 45% or above marks (40% in the case of reserved candidates).

A sum of 385 students in group A and 684 students in group B secured above 99 percentiles in the GUJCET 2022.
The total number of students registered for the GUJCET exam in 2022 accounted for 1,08,154 students.
The GUJCET exam includes the topics from classes 11th and 12th class of the Gujarat Board of the subjects Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and Physics.
In order to clear the GUJCET Math exam, a candidate must prepare and study the mathematics formulae, equations, reactions etc., by preparing short notes or flash notes. A candidate must undergo regular self-assessment to check the level of understanding and to prepare for the exam in a better way. Similarly, the candidate must design and revise each topic on a regular basis and solve several mock tests.
