International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is an acronym that stands for a worldwide knowledge competition. The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is responsible for organizing the International General Knowledge Olympiad, as well as other tests that assess students' English proficiency, computer science knowledge, mathematical ability, and scientific understanding. The IGKO encourages students to develop their general knowledge abilities and engage in current events. The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) aims to promote overall academic and personal growth for students through the IGKO. Participation in the IGKO is open to students in classes 1 through 10, and their performance is assessed based on their test scores. Student's performance is evaluated at four different levels: school, community, city, and individual. The IGKO provides an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge beyond what is covered in school curriculums and textbooks.
The Science Olympiad Foundation establishes the requirements for participation in the International General Knowledge Olympiad test.
Students in grades 1 to 10 from all streams who are enrolled in the State Boards, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education are also eligible for the IGKO. (ICSE).
Gender does not play a role in eligibility for the SOF IGKO. Therefore, individuals of any gender are welcome to apply.
Schools across the country can serve as registration centres for the SOF exam, provided that they register as exam centers. The registration process is free, and SOF provides the necessary information to the school. To register, schools must complete the School Registration Form (SRF) and Students' Registration Sheet (SRS) and submit them by the deadline. These forms are used by SOF to generate roll numbers for all students who intend to take the exam.
The exam fee for each student is 125 rupees. However, students who have physical impairments and whose parents are in the defense sector are exempt from paying any fees.
The registration fee for the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is INR 125 per participant.
Schools are required to have a minimum of 10 participants to register for the IGKO.
