The Anitha Venkateswara Rao College of Education, Tenali, was started in 2007. The college is an affiliated institution with the goal of orienting and providing future educators with opportunities. The college is located at Gaganamma Peta, opposite the RTC Bus Stand Out Gate, Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. The institution covers an area of 1.2 acres. This NCTE-approved college offers two specialisations in education. What gives the college its unique intimacy is a total student enrolment of 194 with a faculty strength of 15. 

Anitha Venkateswara Rao College of Education goal, therefore, is to provide an ideal learning atmosphere to the students. It has a well-stocked library that acts as a knowledge centre for the would-be teachers.  Departmental laboratories are available in the college to facilitate practical learning so that students get a feel for the practical application in their chosen area of study. It also provides sports facilities for its students, which encourages physical fitness and team spirit. It understands the importance of a balanced education.

Anitha Venkateswara Rao College of Education offers two full-time courses: B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. The total approved intake of the institution is 200, divided equally with 100 seats in each program. 

The admission process into Anitha Venkateswara Rao College of Education is based on merit, by marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The admission policy adopted by the state government, Union Territory administration, or the affiliating university is adopted by the College. Admission to the B.Ed Programme shall be based on the merit of the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other selection process as per the existing policy. Admission to the D.El.Ed. course is made based on merit, which is prepared with reference to the marks in the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other selection criterion as may be prescribed by the authorities.
