About College of Teacher Education, Kumily
Kumily’s College of Teacher Education is one of the constituent colleges founded in Idukki, Kerala, in the year of 1994. This is a co-educational centre that is located on 2 and a half acres of land and has a teacher training college. Affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college mainly focuses on teacher training. The college is providing education to 100 students at a time, and the faculty member strength is 8; therefore, we have a proper student-teacher ratio to provide quality education. As of now, the institution can only award one degree programme, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), because its emphasis is on teacher training.
College of Teacher Education is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. There is, therefore, a variety of teaching and learning facilities available for students in the College of Teacher Education, Kumily. The college library is one of the important learning resources which is very useful in providing students with a source of educational and literature materials. As for the practical training, there is a comfortable laboratory at the institution so that students can practise different aspects of education. Extra-curricular activities are also considered by the college, offering sporting amenities to achieve health-related objectives of the students.
