    About Government Polytechnic for Women, Hindupur

    Government Polytechnic for Women, Hindupur, established in 1985 is among the leading technical institutions in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a college providing technical education primarily to women in various fields of engineering. It spreads over 15.5 acres. The College has the approvals of both the All India Council for Technical Education and the Pharmacy Council of India. Currently, it has a total enrolment of 364 students with a faculty of 18, thus assuring a premium student-teacher ratio for individual attention. 

    Government Polytechnic for Women possesses all the modern facilities to ensure that all the academic needs of the students are met. Well-equipped library: it is that reservoir of knowledge, while state-of-the-art laboratories prepare learners for practical training in all technical fields. A girls' hostel is available in the campus; accommodation is thus safe and homely for girls coming from outstations. For all-around development facilities for sports are available as well as an auditorium for cultural and academic events. The cafeteria caters to the dietary needs of the students and the staff, whereas the health centre with first aid facilities caters to the well-being of the college community. The institute is highly conscious of the importance of digital connectivity and thus ensures that the campus has campus-wide Wi-Fi and excellent IT infrastructure, thereby preparing the students for their highly technological future. 

    In total, three full-time diploma courses offered at Government Polytechnic for Women, Hindupur, are designed for current and emerging industry requirements. The institute offers a total intake of 160 students diversified across programmes. These courses include Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Diploma in Pharmacy, D.Pharma. All of these courses have been envisioned with appropriate provisions for adequate theory as well as practical learning to equip the graduates to handle a successful professional career.
