About Kshatriya College of Education, Kangra

Kshatriya College of Education, Kangra, started in 2006, is an affiliated college located in the Indora Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. It is co-educational and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), primarily offering teacher education. Located on a small area of an 1 acre, the college has two full-time academic courses and 215 cumulative full-time student enrolments. The faculty is composed of 14 members of staff and the institute has been able to maintain a small student-faculty ratio.

The college offers numerous amenities, helping to improve the conditions for learning among students. The laboratories are fully stocked with contemporary electronic and other necessary gadgets and equipment required to achieve optimum coverage in the practical sessions that form part of the curriculum. Most specifically, the library acts as a knowledge point for students by providing several forms of educational materials. The college also provides hostel accommodations for students from other towns and cities and the college has hostels for boys and girls, respectively, with a capacity to take over fifty students each. These hostels offer accommodations for student’s chores with air-cooling rooms and modem facilities. It is equipped with a wireless internet connection with the possibility of accessing the internet on campus from early morning till the middle of the night, possessing a connection of 46 MBPS. Tennis and badminton courts are available for the sports-developed facility, such as walking or jogging tracks and cricket fields. Other facilities available are transportational facilities, a canteen/café, an event/seminar hall/auditorium, and a health care/first aid clinic.

Kshatriya College of Education offers two full-time courses: Bachelors in Education (B. Ed.) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed.). Courses Offered. The B.Ed programme is approved for an intake capacity of 100 students, and the D.El.Ed programme has a capacity of 50 students.

Kshatriya College of Education has its admission policy based on merit through aggregate scores in the entrance test and/or qualifying exam. The college adheres to all the admission policies provided by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh and the university to which the college is affiliated.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): Kshatriya College of Education has been approved with an intake of 50 students for the D.El.Ed program. Admission to the D.El.Ed program is also on a merit basis by considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The selection process is done in accordance with the guidelines of the State Government or UT Administration. Typically, a candidate who has completed his/her higher secondary education (10 + 2) is eligible to apply for the D.El.Ed program.
