Malda Polytechnic was established shortly in 1962. Since then it has been contributing towards the roots from where budding engineers take off. Degree wise Admission Process
For five diploma courses, Malda Polytechnic has 60 sanctioned seats per program per year. The admission procedure for these programs is as follows:
Diploma in Civil Engineering: A full-time diploma on different aspects of civil engineering where admission is based on (i) the marks of the qualifying examination and (ii) the entrance test conducted either by the state or the institute itself.
Diploma in Electrical Engineering: Students are admitted to the diploma program in electrical engineering on the basis of academic records and relevant entrance examinations; students with a solid foundation of mathematics and physics will be favored.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: For admission to the mechanical engineering diploma, the candidate must enter an entrance test competitively weighing his academic record. This diploma includes students' training in mechanical designs and manufacturing processes.
Diploma in Automobile Engineering: The program offers a unique off-campus mode wherein students will learn through distance education. Admission criteria may include that Students' academic performance and other requisites laid down by the institute for distance-learning programs.

College infrastructure is not so bad. There is lot of greenery there. the fields are large. The buildings are very old. They paint it recently but more work should do. Hostels are inside of the campus.
