Malwa College of Nursing, established in Barnala the year 2005, is one of the premier nursing college of Punjab state in India. Located in different scale area along the Raikot Main Highway in Mehal Kalan – Barnala, the college aims to provide various programmes concerning to nursing discipline. Being an affiliated college, it secures permission by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) which makes it capable of providing quality educational services in the filed of nursing. The institute offers four full time programmes, the degree programmes and two diploma programmes with a total student capacity of 284. At present, the college has 11 faculty members which allows for a desirable student to teacher ratio for its aspirational nurse students.

The college offers a four-year B.Sc Nursing programme with an approved intake of 40 students. This undergraduate degree is designed to impart in-depth education and skills in nursing. Admission to this programme depends strictly on the past academic record of the candidate for 10+2 with science subjects and performance in the entrance exam held by the state nursing council or as per the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing is a two-year programme that is for registered nurses intending to upgrade their qualifications. The college has an approved intake of 40 students for this course. The candidates are expected to have completed their GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) course and should be a registered nurse when applying for admission.
The college offers a three-year diploma programme in General Nursing and Midwifery with an approved intake of 60 students. This course is suitable for candidates who have completed their 10+2 with science subjects. Admission is based on the candidate's academic performance and entrance test scores.
ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) is a two-year diploma programme with an approved intake of 40 students. The course is designed for candidates who have completed their 10+2 in any stream.
