National College of Education, Shivamogga, is a very reputed institution for teacher education. Its accreditation with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) affords it a fairly comprehensive admission policy to aspiring teachers.
Usually, the admission procedures for the college run parallel to the academic calendar of Kuvempu University, of which the college is an affiliate. 75 per cent of the total seats are allotted under the government quota, while the management reserves the rest 25 per cent of the seats. Admission to its flagship program, the B.Ed. The program generally starts about two months before the beginning of the academic session. Interested in B.Ed. Application Process
The admission procedure for the National College of Education, Shivamogga, for B.Ed aspirants usually involves several stages:
Opening of Admissions: An advertisement about admission opening in some form of media advertisement is given by the admission office itself.
Application Form: Candidates may obtain the application form either on campus or at any admission office.
Submission of Documents: Candidates are also required to submit, along with their application form, the following:
• Degree certificates and mark sheets of qualifying examinations
• Transfer certificate from the last attended institution
• Migration certificate (if applicable)
• Caste certificate (for reserved category candidates)
• Any other documents as specified by the college or university

Setting up of Merit List: Merit list ensuing from the academic performance of candidates in the qualifying examinations will be set up by the college, observing reservation policies as set forth bythe State Government and Kuvempu University.
Counselling and Seat Allotment: The shortlisted candidates may undergo counselling, wherein the seats would be allotted according to merit and their choice of options.
Collection of Fees: Selected candidates must collect the prescribed fee within the stipulated period to confirm enrollment.
Verification of Documents: The college does a complete verification of documents submitted on the eve of admission confirmation.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Ed: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at the National College of Education, Shivamogga, is a regular two-year program and has an intake of 50 students. The admission process for B.Ed. is governed by the rules of the State Government as well as by Kuvempu University. 75 per cent of the seats are filled under the government quota and 25 per cent under the management quota. To be eligible, candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Admission is granted based on merit ranking with respect to the academic performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination.
