Prasanna College of Education, located at Ujire, is a recognised institution by NCTE for teacher education courses in Belthangady, which currently constitutes the Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka. It poses a friendly atmosphere for students intending to become teachers in the future.

Prasanna College of Education has a defined admission policy that enables admission of qualified students into either of its teacher education programs on merit, based on the grading for the qualifying examinations. Application Process

Application to Prasanna College of Education, Ujire is as follows:

B.Ed.The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program offered by Prasanna College of Education is generally a full-fledged two-year course for an approved intake of 100 students. Admission to the B.Ed course is, as a general rule, based on merit, taking into consideration marks achieved in the qualifying examination. Merit may, however, be supplemented by an entrance examination or any such procedure adopted by the state government. The program prepares students for careers in teaching through theoretical understanding and practical training.

D.El.Ed.: The D.El.Ed, which has been conferred the status of a seat intake of 50 seats, has a merit-based admission mechanism similar to that of B.Ed. In this regard, allotment of merit would be based on the scores obtained in the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or other selection process, depending on policies of the applicable state government, UT administration, as well as the university. The diploma course is meant to cater to the capacity of teaching at the elementary level.
