SA COECD, Silao, regulates the training programs in teacher education tailored for the co-educational institute affiliated to Nalanda University, Bihar, offering programs approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The prerequisites of admission at SA College of Education are purely on merit for selection of deserving candidates for two full-time courses in education.
College admissions will be made based on the merit obtained in the qualifying examination, entrance test, and/or additional criteria laid down as per the policies of the state government/UT administration and university for admission; in accordance with the rules and principles of Honorable Supreme Court of India regarding admission on incentive basis.
All modern amenities are there, and the learning environments stand high for extracurricular activities. They would comprise of quite a well-stocked library; departmental labs for practicals; IT infrastructure; gymnasium for physical training; sports; cafeteria; health center with first aid; parking space; and finally, an auditorium for holding events and seminars.
Application Process
Announcement of admissions: College declares admission through various forms of media and at the official website.
Application form: Interested candidates can collect and complete the application form. This might be available online from the college website or in person at the college office.
Submission of documents: The filled application form needs to be accompanied by all required documents by the candidate. These documents may include:
Marks sheets for qualifying examinations;
Entrance exam scorecard (if applicable);
Evidence for date of birth;
Category certificate (if applicable);
Any other certificate as necessary in the institute.
Entrance Examination: Candidates may be required to appear for an entrance examination to be conducted as per the policy of state government and university guidelines.
Merit List Preparation: A merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in qualifying and entrance tests and other criteria as per state policy.
Counseling and Seat Allocation: The successful candidates are called for counseling and allocation of seat based on the merit rank against the available seats.
Fee Payment: Such selected candidates are required to deposit the prescribed fee, thereby confirming their admission.
Document Verification: The college will conduct document verification before finalizing admission.
Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Ed. (Bachelor in Education):
The College is providing a B.Ed. course at its campus for a duration of two years to prepare students for successful teaching careers. Admission process for B.Ed. is purely merit-based from marks obtained from qualifying examination and/or entrance examinations. The college is permitted to have an intake of 100 seats for this course. Eligible criteria will be as per the university and state guidelines.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education):
D.El.Ed. is another course that is two-years long in this college, which concerns itself with elementary education. Likewise, as that of the case with admission in the abovementioned B.Ed course, candidates are only selected into D.El.Ed. by merit concerning marks attained in qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. This program avails a sanctioned intake of 100 seats. Candidates shall fulfill eligibility requirements as specified by the concerned educational authorities.
