Saraswati Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Mandsaur, a prominent teacher education institute, offers courses recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The aim of the entire admission process at Saraswati Shiksha Mahavidyalaya is to select and prepare quality human resources for teaching. For B.Ed. currently four sources are available for students. Selection is based on the student's merit as per Madhya Pradesh State Government and concerned university regulations. Admissions typically commence ahead of the starting of the academic year reported to be July or August.
Both for B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. programs, candidates have to fulfill the eligibility parameters as set by the respective competent regulatory bodies. Admissions shall take into account the academic performance of students in their previous qualifications, the outcome in the entrance test (if any), including reservations as any given by the State Government.
Application Process
The application process for Saraswati Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Mandsaur, include the following steps:

2. Application Form: Candidates need to acquire and fill an application form. Application form would normally be obtained through the college website or can be simply picked from the college office.

5. Merit List: The college will prepare a merit list according to the performance of the candidates in the qualifying examination and/or entrance tests.
6. Counselling and Document Verification: Candidates obtaining in the merit list shall be called for counselling and document verification. In this process, the candidates will have to furnish all original documents for verification.
7. Fee Payment: After verification and allotment of seats, the candidates shall be required to pay the requisite admission fee.
8. Orientation: An orientation for students admitted will be conducted to familiarize them with the college, its facilities, and course structure.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. course here is a two-year full-time professional program with an intake approved at 100 students. The admission to the B.Ed. program is determined on the policies set by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh and the concerned university. Selection would be based upon the score obtained in the qualifying examination and/or performance in the prescribed entrance examination. Graduates of specific subjects are eligible to apply for the B.Ed. program.
D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): D.El.Ed. is a two-year full-time course with an intake of 50 students. It aims at preparing teachers for the primary and upper primary classes. The admission in D.El.Ed. is constituted as per the state government of Madhya Pradesh in its rules and regulations. Admission in this course is purely on the merit gained by the candidates in the qualifying examination (mostly 10+2 or equivalent) based on percentages or entrance tests, if any.
