Despite the fact that there were no set admission dates, the college normally operates under the academic year calendar of the affiliating university. For the undergraduate programmes such as B.Pharma and D.Pharma, perhaps the route of admission could be entrance examination pass and 12th standard performance. For some of the M.Pharma programmes, the admission criteria may include GPAT scores or college entrance tests, while the candidate’s performance in undergrad is also considered.

Perhaps the Pharm.D. programme could be operated under a different required admission process given that the course is quite distinct. In the case of Ph.D. admissions, the college may require students for interviews and evaluate their proposal based on research. Education scholarships are available at SVCP, and statistically, in the 2022 academic year, 120 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate students received reimbursement. Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy, Namakkal Admission

Swamy Vivekananda College of Pharmacy, popularly called SVCP, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, is one of the leading institutions offering a variety of courses in pharmaceutical education. The college has a well-organized admission procedure that helps admit deserving candidates into various programs. Normally, the admission cycle of SVCP coincides with the academic year of its affiliate university. Though these dates are subject to variation, admission generally opens a few months before the academic session. The college has programs at all levels - undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral - and all have different criteria and procedures for admissions. For undergraduate programs such as the B.Pharma and D.Pharma, admissions are determined by the candidate's performance in the 12th standard exam and relevant entrance tests.

The MSc admissions include various M.Pharma specializations that could account for GPAT scores, or tests whose marks would be considered in addition to the candidate's academic performance at the undergraduate degree level. In M.Pharma, the following specializations are open: Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacognosy. For the Pharm.D program, a separate admission process may exist since the course is rather unique. For the Ph.D. program, the candidate shall be evaluated on the basis of his/her research proposal submitted and may have to attend an interview.

Application Process

The application process for Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy will depend on the course being undertaken:

1. Obtain application form: Application forms will be available online on the college's website or one may visit the college premises for the same.

2. Fill the application form: Fill up all mandatory fields of the application form with complete accuracy. Make sure that personal details, academic qualifications and program preferences have been mentioned correctly.

5. Entrance exam/interview: For programs requiring entrance exams or interviews, appear for the same as per the schedule provided by the college.

6. Merit list and counseling: Based on the selection criteria, a merit list will be published. Shortlisted candidates may be called for counseling sessions.

7. Fee payment and admission confirmation: Candidates selected must pay the prescribed fees and complete admission requirements within the stipulated time in order to secure their seats.

Admission Process Degree-wise

D.Pharma: The 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy program admits 60 students every year. Candidates who have completed their 12th standard with science subjects are eligible to apply.

M.Pharma: SVCP offers various M.Pharma Specializations, including Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacognosy. Admission into these 2-year programmes may consider GPAT scores or college-specific entrance tests, along with the candidate's B.Pharma performance.

Pharm.D: The Doctor of Pharmacy program has a separate admission process because it is twofold: one is clinical and the other is research. Eligible candidates should have their 12th standard complete with required subjects.

Ph.D in Pharmacy: Full-time and part-time Ph.D programs are being offered. Admission is purely based on evaluation of the candidate's research proposal, academic background, and performance in the interview.
