VET College of education is a valued teacher training institution, located in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, India which was established in 2008. This co-educational institute which occupies the area of five acres is aimed at the preparation of future educators. VET College of Education is an affiliated college that has been approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) thereby providing the college with a standard education that it teaches. A total of one hundred students is taken at any one time, while the college has a faculty of nine this makes the atmosphere to be more collegiate in the sense that group sizes are small to encourage growth.

The college has various facilities that include: state of the art facilities necessary to improve student learning atmosphere. At the center of these is a library that boasts over 5000 books, 15 national journals, and 2 international journals has a backing of automation and internet services. The institution appreciates the need for a rounded education providing amenities for games such as cricket, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, chess and carrom. In response to the need for technological compliance, VET College avails Compuserve, fully air conditioned data terminals/Internet connection. The campus also includes well developed practicals laboratories for physical and biological sciences, and a Psychological laboratory with modern apparatus as part of practical demonstrations.

VET College of Education only has one under its umbrella, and this is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This is a two year course with an approved capacity to take one hundred total students to ensure the institute offers quality teachers. The B.Ed programme has been developed with an aim to impart knowledge, skills and experience in any potential teacher in order to make a successful career in teaching. Although the college only offers this one speciality at the moment, preparing for the realities of contemporary education is as extensive as possible.

At VET College of Education admissions are opened directly and mostly based on marks in the qualifiable examination and/or entrance examination. The college operates under the laws governing the state, UT, and the university to which it is affiliated. This avoids favouritism and other cases of bias in the selection process of admits by prospective students.
