M.Ed at Jammu University Offline Course

Master of Education (MEd) in Dogri is a full-time two years duration postgraduate course and it is offered by The University of Jammu, Jammu. Department of Education was established in the year 1973. Initially, the Department had started M.Ed. class of one year with an intake capacity of 25 students along with one Professor and four lecturers. Later on, another class of M.A. Education of two-years was started in 1978 with an intake capacity of 50 students. The distinguishing feature of Department is that DRS-II has been granted to it under Special Assistance Programme (SAP) by UGC in the year 2016-21 for the Period of five years i.e. up to 2021. At Present Prof. Renu Nanda is the Head of the Department, Convener, Board of Studies in Education & in total 10 Faculty members are working including 03 Professors, 03 Assistant Professors, and 04 Lecturers. The department also promotes research culture through M. Phil and Ph. D programmes. Many students of the Department have cleared UGC-NET/JRF and have been absorbed in various teaching departments of the State as well as Central Government. The educational programmes of the department are innovative and methodologically unique. The department provides quality teaching, practical experience, School internship and a unique chance to share and develop the vision, knowledge, initiative and critical thinking needed to meet professional challenges and community needs. Moreover, the Department also initiated to train Teacher Educators of different colleges of education affiliated to the University of Jammu on constructivist approach and also adopted Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Satwari, Jammu to develop it as a Model Institution of Excellence in the Region.
