Best Law School in Jammu

Batch of 2019 | LLB 5 years Integrated
The State of J and K has a different legal system to that of the remainder of the country. It is mostly filled with the student body whose parents are working as lawyers. There is not a diverse faculty but as compared to other law schools in the state, this is a really good institution. We have regular classes and it is simply the best course in Jammu University. For internships, we usually work under high court lawyers. The infrastructure is nice and a separate building has been provided by the law campus. The student body is mostly local and so is the faculty. But the institute has come a long way.

Teachers are really great. They put a lot of effort in making students understand. Atmosphere here is really good. People here are really focused. Infrastructure is good too. It is a big campus. Placements are okay. There are many departments in the university so you have a lot of option in choosing the subjects.

Important Chapter of my life

Posted on 08 Sep' 16 by RAJ KUMAR GUPTA
Batch of 1979 | LLB
I completed my LLB from Jammu University in the year 1979. The experience there was very learning. At that time, the infrastructure was not so huge what is today but the learning and quality of teachers at that time was great. The concepts which I learned at that time are still in my memory and mind. I still cherish those moments and remember all my teachers.

A College coming of age

Posted on 04 Sep' 16 by Abhimanyu
Batch of 2011 | LLB 5 years Integrated
Since mine was the fourth batch of this 5-year course institution called The Law school, University of Jammu, I can, with all humility, say that I have seen my college come of age, I have seen it grow. I joined TLS in 2006 and was amazed to see the infrastructure. The classrooms, the library, parking, everything was not just at par but better than most of the colleges that I had visited earlier. The faculty and placement aren't my favourite areas because of the following reasons...1) I personally found the teachers a bit incompetent, may be because the college was new. 2) Jammu back then didn't have much of law firms and companies to get placed into. It was more litigation centered. I am guessing TLS has a history of producing more criminal or civil lawyers, civil administrators, entrepreneurs than corporate lawyers, It made me an author. And finally the best part, the college life. Let me sum it up as briefly as possible..."Best 5 years of my life so far." From crowd to all the "out of the classroom" activities, it was fantastic, we made sure it was fantastic, it was our duty and obligation to make our college life awesome, after all, we were The Law School.

The management Deptt now the business school is the premium Deptt in Jammu university and what makes the place special is sprawling complex and big infrastructure as well as reasonable faculty, few are excellent. Good affordable education and quality of intake were good back in the early nineties cannot comment as of now but had a great time.
