Barnagar College, Barpeta, was established in 1962 and is one of the leading education institutions of this area, located at Sorbhog, Assam. It is a co-educational college with a massive 21.728-acre campus and has been fulfilling the academic needs of the region for over six decades. It is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Total student enrolment is 1,931 with 60 faculty members.

The facilities provided at the college allow further enhancement of the all-round educational experience. A well-stocked library has over 23,000 books that include reference material and encyclopedias, which are supported with periodicals and newspapers. It has also given provision for some vocational courses at the degree level, such as B.Voc. Tourism and Travel Management and B.Voc. in Computer Application. At the PG level, the college imparts education in Political Science, Assamese, and History.
