The Government College Of Pharmacy, Karad was established in the year 1964 by the government of Maharashtra with an aim to provide technical education in the rural areas. The college is one of the first government colleges in Maharashtra and is spread across an area of 8 acres. The college offers various courses related to pharmacy which are B.Pharm, D.Pharm & M.Pharm. Affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur, the college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai

Exams and Cutoffs
Candidates have to appear in MHT CET.
Successful candidates who will qualify the examination will have to register for the counselling process of MHT CET.
The selection of the candidates will be done on the merit basis and choices made by them during the counselling. The candidates with a higher rank will be given first preference.
Selected candidates will have to report to College of Pharmacy, Karad to confirm their admission and get their documents verified and pay the admission fee.
The campus is spread across an area of 8 acres and offers all the utilities that can be required from the students. Some of the facilities are listed below:
Hostels: The college has separate hostels for boys and girls. Two boys and one girls hostels are present within the college having an intake of 100 students each. All the basic utilities are present within the hostel with a gym, common room for television, newspaper facility and other requirements. Admission to the hostels is done on the merit basis and availability of the seats in the hostels.
Library: A library is present within the college campus which has a large number of books related to pharmacy. It comprises an office for librarian, stack area, issue return counter and a reading room. The library also has a subscription to DELNET through which it avails the access to many e-books and journals related to pharmacy and life sciences.
Computer Lab: A computer lab is also present within the pharmacy college. The college emphasizes computer training for the students and one of the applications of the computer which can be helpful for the pharmacy student is computer aided drug designing. Students can also avail the internet facility to look for different career opportunities like jobs or for admission to fellowships programme.
SAIF: The Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility is available in the college. This facility is availed by the government of India at all the small educational institutions who have an inability to procure and maintain sophisticated analytical instruments.
Auditorium: An auditorium is also present which also serves as a conference/seminar hall and can accommodate up to 200 students at once.
Gymkhana: A gymkhana is a platform that serves as a platform for the students to showcase their talents and platform. Gymkhana organises various events every year and any student of the college can participate in the events. Various sports events are also conducted in the gymkhana which includes Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Badminton, Carom, Table Tennis.
Guest Accommodation: The college also provides accommodation to the outsiders who came to meet the students within the college.
Medical Garden: With an objective to make cleaner and greener environment and make the students aware of various herbal plants and help them to understand their economical & medicinal use, a medical garden is established having varieties of medicinal tagged plants.
